Ran has found a new recruit and sent him to go guard the south entrance of town. He might seem like he doesn't want anything to do with you, but if you've been playing around, he might find how you've done it interesting.

Just be careful, he likes to play around with people's minds, only if given permission of course. He's a town guard after all, can't go abusing his power in the public.

He's not the only one who's been hired to help protect the town, a bounty hunter has been seen wandering the town center from time to time. It's pretty dull around town right now with all the mercenaries out and about, so why don't you help him kill some time. Who knows, maybe later he'll help you out. Always good to have a friend or two.
