Looks like Rutherfurd is having strange memories that's been going around town lately, and now he's doing something he's never done and is allowing an adventurer to enter in his home and potentially work for him. Just got to impress the son and you'll have it in the bag!

And after you've done that, make sure you've impressed both Ran and Iron to get the go ahead from Ran to become one of the guards. Upon hearing the news, if you're all buddy buddy with Crux, he'll invite you to go scouting with him as well. Although, his profession is a dangerous one. And if he suddenly starts getting weird memories he has no recollection of ever having before...
